Let’s give a friendly Pittsburgh welcome to Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids, located in charming Cranberry Township! They are pretty new to the area and I’m thrilled to feature them as my first local business blog post!
This branch of Cookie Cutters opened this past spring, and their number 1 goal is is to provide families with an amazing haircut experience. From the slide and playset in the waiting area to the TVs at each chair, video games to play, and the super fun chairs on the cutting floor- their expert staff is waiting to provide your child with a one of a kind experience.
One of the many things that really stand out is the staff, who are accustomed to working with children. They really go above and beyond to provide a caring environment where both the child and the parent are at ease. These stylists are not only skilled but also experienced in cutting hair for children of all ages, and provide that extra special touch for those with special needs.
There are lots of moms out there who know that not every child likes to get their haircut- but the staff is aware of this struggle, and they truly do all they can to make the experience one that the kids will not only not fear, but be excited to have again.
I had the pleasure of meeting with Traci Hockenberry, who, along with her husband Greg, are the proud owners of this franchise of Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids- the very first location in Pennsylvania, in fact! In response to my inquiry on what she loves most about her business, she smiled and said:
“I absolutely love it when a parent tells us that their kid HATES to get [their] haircut and then the child sits still and receives a great haircut — to see the look of awe on the parents face makes it all worth it!”
She was such a delight as she showed me around the new salon, with all of it’s fun, unique features. I was genuinely impressed with the whole set-up and I’ve already begun recommending their services to others!
Speaking of hair- They also offer a full line of hair care products. with quality brands, such as Fairy Tales and Circle of Friends, these brands are formulated especially for kids and come in a variety of yummy scents such as blueberry, mango, vanilla, and pineapple.
Traci and Greg are from Wexford and decided on Cranberry for their location because they wanted their business to be close to their home, where they live and where their kids are growing up. They love Cookie Cutters because it’s not just a haircut – it’s an experience! Kids get to play on a playset, they get to sit in fun chairs and watch TV as they get their haircut.
To make the experience complete, each child gets to leave with a brightly colored balloon and a lollipop! I asked Traci if she could share any suggestions for potential clients. She said that they do recommend making an appointment (which you can do on the website or by calling in). This is so that you can get right in without a wait, especially if your child is always “on the go”! (Though the brightly colored play set in the waiting area is sure to keep any kids attention!) She also suggests that if you think your child will have a hard time adjusting, to arrive a few minutes early so they can get used to store.
